There are currently many ‘advanced’ riding courses e.g. IAM, BMF Blue Riband, ROSPA  etc and some offer a good level of training for on-road riding. However, as highlighted in the press recently non of these courses offer the ability to test a bike’s limits or indeed a rider’s limits. This is important as not only would this instill a high level of confidence in the rider but would also help them to appreciate what a modern bike is really capable of. The number of times you hear of riders crashing whilst trying to take a corner is ‘too many’ when in 99.5% of these cases the bike would have gone round the corner but unfortunately the rider didn’t have the confidence needed to negotiate the corner successfully.

Well there are a couple of options to look at.

A 3 day course consisting of 2 days road riding and one day track riding; the track day being the middle day. The successful completion of this course will lead to the award of the BMF Blue Riband/RoSPA Award and NAAMI Certification.

The MAXIMUM ratio of customers to instructor is 2:1, however, more often than not this will be a 1:1 ratio. The 2:1 ratio is in recognition that some customers may well like to do the course with a friend!

The track and road riding incorporates a de-brief at the end of each session so that any learning points can be put into practice for the next session

2008 DATES:

All at Silverstone GP Circuit. This is an excellent circuit; steeped in history combining fast straights and sweeping bends with some slowish bends. It is a long circuit so never gets crowded and is very wide so there are many places for people to pass safely. You can expect in the region of 7 twenty minute sessions, so roughly 60 laps. You will be accompanied throughout the day by an instructor and will be taught the lines and braking points and general track craft.

You will need a roadworthy bike and suitable clothing; 1 piece leathers or two piece zip together. You will also need to bring your driving licence
